Where is the physical science that God exist (or does not exist)? Specifically, for this article, what is the scientific evidence that God exist? If Christians believe God exist, show me the scientific evidence.
Sad news. The fact is that there is no scientific evidence either way (exist or does not exist) and for good reason. Scientific evidence is by definition using the 5 senses to draw conclusions. God’s existence does not lend itself to our senses like the following two examples:
- Evidence grass exist for a blind man is to touch it.
- Evidence that a hot ball of fire is in the sky is demonstrated by moving in and out of the shade.
So, can we conclude that there is no scientific evidence? Correct, but there are a lot of things that exist of which there is no scientific evidence. Some examples: Where is the scientific evidence that:
- a mother loves her child?
- a husband would die for his wife (or even give up a football game)?
- a sunset can be the most beautiful thing a human has seen?
While there is no scientific evidence, we know the above examples are true because there are logical arguments and indirect evidence that we can interpret.
So let’s look at the arguments that help a intellectually honest person conclude that it is reasonable to deduce that a material-less, space-less, and time-less force (God) created the universe.
- Kalam Cosmological argument – Whatever begins to exist has a cause. The universe begin to exist. Therefore the universe has a cause. That cause must be beyond the space, time, and material universe.
- Complexity of life argument – The brain, eyes, and senses of any animal; water which is totally different than any other element on earth; and many other complex features of the world around us.
- Universal laws – the universe operates on a set of laws, principles, theories, etc. that we are discovering.
- DNA Coding – All of biology is constructed by way of a set of blueprints that could not have just expanded into existence.
- Laws of Math – The universe abides by mathematical equations which we define as Laws of Nature.
- Human Consciousness – Human consciousness has no physical presence or or measurable dimensions.
- Human Morality – A lion steals a hyena’s meal and no one says anything. A snake steals a turtle’s den and no one says anything. But if I steal something, everyone is up in arms and tell me how wrong it is.
- Strange Notations – Rather than keep writing (as I like to keep my articles short and to the point) let me direct you to an article at Strange Notations website entitled 20 Arguments for the God’s Existence. This article seems to be
I hope this helps answer the question about God and the question, Is Evolution A Theory. An additional detailed examination in all areas of the Existence of God can be found at Wikepedia. For those who want an explanation on why some people do not believe in God, there is an interesting article by the BBC entitled Reasons People Choose Atheism.
The conclusion that you come to about God’s existence or not is up to your interpretation of many opinions. But the fact is that the Theory of Evolution is not a legitimate theory because it is not compatible with the Laws of Nature.
