To understand why you cannot prove evolution, you have to understand the world of “events”. Understanding this will bring us to the conclusion on the question, Is Evolution A Theory.
There are basically 3 types of “events”:
- memory events
- legal or historical event
- scientific events
These events do not overlap and should not be confused. Let us look at these events in detail.
A memory event is an event that occurred in your memory. What you had for last night dinner with all of its flavor, smell and taste is something in your mind. If you tell me about the hummingbird cake you had, I can relate to it because I have a memory event also.
A legal event is sometimes called a historical event. It is an event that happened in the past but the only way we can discuss or prove it occurred is basically in the courtroom setting. We bring in witnesses, scientific evidence, rule out other possibilities and conclude that the event did occur as claimed.
A scientific event does not need proof. It is reproducible. With the same circumstances, the event will reoccur just as it always has and will.
