What do you think “Science” is about and is evolution a theory?
Is it about opinion? Personal religion? Your philosophy? The way you think things ought to be? The way you think things are? The way you think evolution occurred?
I think “Science” is about reality. It is a mechanisms or tool that helps us define reality. We then use what we learned to explain reality so that we can understand why things happen the way they do. Then Engineers like me take what we learned and create things that can improve our lives and make things like bridges and buildings and roads and cars safer and more reliable,
Science is about experimenting with and understanding reality. The job of our “scientist” is help us understand reality by defining the rules. The rules are the “Laws of Nature” .
Engineers use the Physical Laws or Laws of Nature (physics, electricity, magnetic, etc. ) to make things. Usually things that improve society. If scientist come up with a “Theory” that is congruent or works with other Laws, we expand our knowledge.
But if scientist come up with a “Theory” that does not match existing Physical Laws, either the new “Theory” is in error and you get rid of it or the old “Laws” have to be revised.
Is Evolution a Theory? No, because it does not match, work with, or is congruent with other “Laws”.
The Theory of Evolution does not match Physical Laws or reality. It is acceptable for the theory of evolution to be a hypothesis. But is evolution a theory? No more than aether is a real substance.
