The tragic ‘cyclops’ baby born with one eye.

As you may have read in the Daily Mail on 6 Oct 2015, there was a cyclops baby born.  The headlines write “tragic”.  The article mentions other “disorders”, “birth defects”, and “deformities” as copied below from Daily Mail.

The single eye, and missing nose, is a result of the boy’s eye sockets not forming correctly in the womb.  Most babies with this disorder do not survive as they often have other severe defects, including seriously malformed hearts. Dr Ahmed Badruddin, who is supervising the baby’s condition at the hospital, said the infant was born with other deformities on his body and is only expected to survive a few days.  Click here to read the article.

I have a few questions.

  • Do you see that a change in a human’s DNA creates defects?
  • Do you see that radiation and taking medication changes DNA?
  • Why do drug companies warn “women who are pregnant or may become pregnant” about the side effects of the drug?
  • Can you think of other things that change DNA and ask yourself, “are any changes positive?”
  • Do you know that the theory of evolution needs DNA mutations to fuel natural selection?

I reference this article and show this graphic content of the cyclops baby to illustrate the difference between reality and the theory of evolution.  Theory of evolution is about mutations that move one species higher to the next more complex species.  Reality is about mutations that are tragic and deformed.
