Every workday I drive through what will be the largest DDI Interchange in Florida! What is DDI you may ask. Well let me tell you that I found an article that discusses the changes that I have been seeing for years. Let me quote the Equipment World article:
“U.S. interchanges are undergoing a design shift; from the stale, split-phase, head-to-head configuration to high-volume, semi-continuous designs such as Diverging Diamond Interchanges (DDI) and roundabouts.” Read the article here.
You may be wondering why there is such a change going on in Transportation Engineering by way of intersection design changes. Again, read the article here as I quote:
“Part of the impetus for this is the need to accommodate expanding numbers of motorists, as traffic volumes steadily increase. For the first six months of 2016, the vehicle miles traveled in the United States reached a record high of 1.58 trillion miles. That’s a staggering figure, and coupled with the fact that existing interchanges are more or less landlocked in their position, gives credence to the argument that intersection design needs a rethink.”
Now, let us get down to Is Evolution A Theory (IEAT) business. What does this have to do with IEAT?
The theory of evolution and the tree of life say that life started out as a cell. As you know cells divide. Life became more complex. Somewhere in this evolution, life reproduction converts to sex rather than division; a entirely revolutionary method of reproduction.
Let me give you the Engineering parallel here:
- simple intersections = simple cell division
- over loaded intersection cannot handle traffic load = complex life form cannot divide
- complex intersection = complex reproduction (sex)
So, how did the transition from asexual reproduction or single cells dividing to male/female life form sexually reproducing?
Forgive me for presenting evolution’s sex change position so simply as I have also presented intersection design fairly simply also. But the fact remains, nothing just happens. Evolution’s explanation of this sex change is inadequate and violates the basic law of biological nature. Animals will not change anything unless motivated. Animals save energy and keep things simple. But this is another story.
Think about it. Imagine you are a happy asexual life form dividing.
- What “natural selection” event would cause or motivate you to change to sexual.
- Next, how did it happen? Who did two asexual life forms come to agreement to be male and female and how did they do the sex change operation?
I ask these questions because I am an Engineer. I need scientific answers to believe scientific theories. These are the similar questions transportation engineers ask as they face an over loaded intersection. 1) Is the intersection overloaded such that we need to change it? 2) How are we going to design the intersection and get traffic moved from existing to new?
Evolution is NOT a theory. Evolution is NOT a fact. Why? Evolution does not fit reality and is incompatible with scientific laws.
But for those who wonder, go to Wikipedia here and read an article about sexual transition. It brings up the challenges of this change over. Also note why the asexual to sexual would not happen: 1) competition to reproduce and 2) slower reproduction rate.
As you think about evolution and is evolution a theory, remember 2 things: 1) there is a difference between scientific laws and magic and 2) just because researchers have an explanation, explanations are not proof. Science is still about facts, laws, proof and NOT possible explanations.
