A US Air Force F-16 pilot will dogfight an AI adversary

According to MSN.com‘s article entitiled, “A US Air Force F-16 pilot is going to take on an AI adversary in a simulated dogfight, and you can watch it live” and a DARPA recent press release, there is going to be several fighter dogfights.

The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) is holding its third and final AlphaDogfight competition from August 18 to August 20. During the event, AI algorithms from eight teams will engage in “simulated within-visual-range air combat maneuvering, colloquially known as a dogfight,”

We are seeing AI show up in so much technology, but now AI dogfight competition. The article goes further and says:

Javorsek said last year that “we envision a future in which AI handles the split-second maneuvering during within-visual-range dogfights, keeping pilots safer and more effective as they orchestrate large numbers of unmanned systems into a web of overwhelming combat effects.

Artificial Intelligence is such an interesting topic. We humans are trying to create and develop an intelligence that can think and act on its own.  It is coming to the public’s attention with cars.

AI research and development has been going on for decades and now we see AI in Air Force fighters.  Some sub-topics of Artificial Intelligence are: Machine Learning, Expert Systems, Reinforcement Learning, Computer Vision, Robotics, Deep Learning, and Natural Language Processing.

How far can we go? Can we create an AI system more intelligent than us?

If you were to ask an materialist or evolutionist, how intelligence came about, you would hear a vague guess.  The fact is that evolution theory has no idea how intelligence evolved out of inorganic matter.

Just understanding intelligence is a field in itself.  Science and Intelligence Theory can address many of our questions like “Is Evolution A Theory?”  And the answer to this question is simple.  No. Evolution is a failed theory.  How do we know this?

Can two theories conflict with each other?  Yes or no?  Well, did you know that:

  • The theory of evolution has no explanation on how inorganic mater developed into an intelligent and a self-aware organic being (other than it just happened)?
  • The theory of evolution is incompatible with the Laws of Nature?

So, Is Evolution A Theory?  Using an intelligent and scientific evaluation, it cannot be a theory by definition.

Start Here to find out why “No” is the answer to the question, Is Evolution a Theory?
