I have a few questions. Shoot, let’s face it. I always have questions. My first question: Is Evolution a Theory?
Now, let me ask you a question. Do you accept everything that people tell you? Without question? Don’t get me wrong, questioning everything is overboard. And, accepting everything is overboard too.
Generally, there needs to be a reason to question something. Like we need an adequate explanation. Next, there is no need to question matters of opinion (like, why is vanilla your favorite flavor of ice cream?) When I think of “questioning”, I think of Columbo. He always asked questions for the one purpose of getting to the truth of the matter.
I really enjoy learning how things worked as a child. I learned to question things in High School when I took Journalism. The basic questions who, what, where, when, why, and how always got to the facts and basic issues that we were writing on.
Later, I learned to ask hard questions at Louisiana Tech when I studied engineering. The basic questions revolved around he scientific method. Other questions revolved around theories and laws of nature.
Now, let me ask you another question. Do you want to know the truth about evolution? Well, I do too.
So join me in asking hard deep questions about the theory of evolution and determining, Is Evolution A Theory? Below is a list of published “evolutionary facts” (EF) and my “science questions” (SQ).
Questions
- EF: The universe exploded into existence by way of the big bang. SQ: If the big bang is the effect, what is the cause – what caused the big bang to explode? What force generated the explosion? See Law if Cause and Effect
- EF: Everything started as a point of singularity. SQ: If there was nothing before singularity, how could there be something now? See Law of Non-Contradiction.
- EF: Everything started as a point of singularity. Then it exploded into the universe we see today. SQ: All of that mass and energy at singularity would surely be a black hole. If light cannot escape a black hole, how did an explosion escape it? I thought nothing can escape a black hole. How did the big bang explode with all of the universal mass and gravity in one point of origin?
- EF: What caused the universe to be here is not god but the big bang. SQ: If the universe is the effect, what was the 1st cause? What caused everything to set up so the big bang could happen? See Law of Cause and Effect.
- EF: The universe exploded out of nothing. SQ: If our scientist cannot create matter or energy, how did matter and energy create its selves out of nothing? Law of Non-Contradiction.
- EF: We know the age of things, 5 billion years old. SQ: This time sounds longer than the half-life of anything I know. Why isn’t the radioactive material stable? There half life’s have expired. See Law of Half Life.
- EF: The universe began from nothing. SQ: How can something come out of nothing?
- EF: The universe organized itself over billions of years. SQ: How did the universe get so organized out of a caotic explosion?
- EF: Evolution is a fact of science. SQ: I understand gravity being a fact of science. I understand black holes being a fact of science. How can there be so many questions and unexplanable process surrounding a fact of science?
- EF: Steven Hawkins, “The universe was spontaneously created out of absolutely nothing. SQ: What caused something to come out of absolutely nothing.”
- EF: Life organized out of primordial soup? SQ: Sounds like the rabbit came out of a hat. What cause these chemicals to gather in one place and a living cell?
- EF: Given time plus matter plus chance, evolution occurred. SQ: I understand time passing. I understand matter sitting around. How did “chance” a mathematical probability have the force to create something?
- EF: A change in a DNA letter, a random mutation, can alter a gene’s message and new life can appear. SQ: How does a random change in DNA give its DNA more information to form an entirely new or more complex creature or feature? See Law of Information.
- EF: Biological instructions are transmitted from one generation to the next. SQ: How did the first DNA get created to start the biological instructions?
- EF: Animals evolved via natural selection. SQ: Could you define “evolved”? Is that adapting to one’s environment? Or is that improving the species from a less complex to a more complex? Two different things. My second question is: Could you define Natural Selection and what power it has to influence animals to improve their genetic code?
- Do you have any questions?
Do any of the above EF statements make you question evolution and ask is Evolution a theory?
Or what about these other questions:
- Why is there something rather than nothing?
- Where did the original matter and energy that exploded come from?
- What mechanism caused the bang (explosion or expansion) of the Big Bang?
- Why did order begin to emerge rather than chaos?
- Why did elements (Helium and Hydrogen) form after the explosion and in the correct balance?
- How did the exploding gas and dust from the expanding explosion form planets when there were no planets to create gravity?
- What did the “dust” consist of? There were no stars exploding to manufacture dust, chemical elements or planets.
- With all of an animals individual organs, tissues, cells, etc., what properties of the animal’s systems enable its components to work together toward higher-level objectives?
- Whatever the possible explanation is for the Big Bang (the origin of the universe) there remains many questions that remain unanswered.
- If a galaxy consisted of about 100 billion stars and about 200 billion galaxies in our observable universe, how did all of star, planet and dark matter come from a small point of singularity?
- How did the eye with all its inimitable contrivances for adjusting the focus to different distances, for admitting different amounts of light, and for the correction of spherical and chromatic aberration have been formed by natural selection?
- How can a biological system ever generate meaningful, coherent and goal-oriented behavior from natural selection?
- How could intelligent, purposeful problem-solving behavior be found in single cells, individual neurons, neuron networks, viruses, ribosomes, RNA fragments, motor proteins and molecular networks?
- If Hubble Telescope is showing astronomers starlight from 10 billion light years away near the edge of our universe, why is that light showing us mature galaxies?
- If the universe started as a point of singularity or a location where matter is very compacted, how did it overcome its (by definition a black hole with immense gravity with all of that matter) immense gravity pull?
- How can organic material that is different from inorganic material become of its ability to grow, reproduce, perform functional activity, and continually change preceding its death back to inorganic material?
- Origin of Life – how did non-living matter became living organisms on primitive Earth some 3.5 billion years ago?
- Origin of the Cosmos – how everything came from nothing?
- Origin of the Mind – how did human mind with all of its cognition, insight, reasoning, and intelligence come about?
- Is there meaning or purpose in my experience and conscience awareness?
- Are religion and science on a collision course or are they two sides of the same coin?
