408. Executive Summary

Below is a list of several governing laws of nature that direct the universe’s behavior with a layman’s summary (in italic) and the incompatible conflict with the theory of naturalistic evolution for your consideration.

Cosmic Evolution Day 1 – The Conservation Lawsneither energy nor matter can create itself; they can only be transformed.  People experience this law each time they put on a diamond ring.  Jewelers do not create gold or diamonds.  They merely transform them from what miners have unearthed to an elaborate display of art.  Cosmic evolution claims that energy, matter, and space-time created itself out of nothing via the big bang.  Energy and matter cannot create itself.  Scientifically, nothing can create itself. Therefore, the theory of evolution is in conflict with this law of nature.

Cosmic Evolution Day 1 – Law of Identityevery object has characteristics that define it as that particular object.  The chair you are sitting in has the characteristics of a chair.  The chair may be wooden but it is not a tree.  You know this because you use identity words when you communicate.  Evolution claims that our universe came out of an infinite and stable past of nothing and changed identity from stable nothing into an exploding big bang. Cosmic Evolution claims nothing became something.  Without an outside influence by an appropriate power, identity cannot change.  Nothing remains nothing.  Therefore, the theory of evolution is in conflict with this law of nature.

Cosmic Evolution Day 1 – Causality or Law of Cause and Effectfor every effect there must be an appropriate cause.  If your car does not start (effect), you take it to a mechanic to determine the cause.  When we examine our universe using the law of cause and effect, we ultimately end up with “first cause”.  What was the beginning cause of energy, matter, and space-time?  Cosmic Evolution claims that the universe exploded or expanded into existence out of nothing or  the absence of anything.  Explosions cannot occur unless there is an agent causing that explosion.  Note that the agent causing the universe to explode must be massive to move the enormous and expanding universe so fast.  Therefore, the theory of evolution is in conflict with this law of nature.

Stellar Evolution Day 2 – The Second Law of Thermodynamicsentropy of the universe is constantly increasing. In layman’s terms: energy moves from concentration to disorganize.  Right now, your coffee is cooling.  All stars, even our sun, are on the same cooling path.   This law begs the question, “How did all of the energy in the burning stars come about in such a concentrated manner?”  The more theoretical scientists puts it this way: the universe was very organized and we see it running down into chaos.  Stellar evolution claims that the big bang created concentrated heat locations like stars. Nowhere do we see heat organizing into locations; it disperses.  Therefore, the theory of evolution is in conflict with this law of nature.

Element Evolution Day 3 – Newton’s First Lawinertia says that a body at rest will remain at rest until acted upon by an outside force.  I have experienced this law while sitting in my easy chair watching a game on TV.  When my wife asks for help with something, I feel the weight of the universe as I overcome the inertia to move my body out of the chair and in her direction.  Element evolution claims that out of nothing, the absence of anything, the big bang occurred.  After cooling, protons and neutrons began forming in what is called nucleosynthesis.  After cooling even more, hydrogen and helium formed stars and then began forming elements in the periodic table.  This all occurred without an outside force to create an expanding and element-producing universe.  Without an outside force, nothing can change its inertia from stable to explosive.  Therefore, the theory of evolution is in conflict with this law of nature.

Organic Evolution Day 4 – Causality or Law of Cause and Effectfor every effect there must be an appropriate cause. Darwin’s biological theory claims that life formed out of a primordial soup in rocky, sandy, inorganic material.  In 1952, Miller-Urey experimented in chemical synthesis attempting to provide a causal path for inorganic matter to create organic matter.   This experiment did not demonstrate a pathway for the origin of life.  Organic Evolution claims that life’s cells and DNA came about from an inorganic soup.   Neither the earth’s environment, chance, nor time is causal agents that can create life out of non-life.  Therefore, the theory of evolution is in conflict with this law of nature.

Organic Evolution Day 4 – The Law of Informationinformation can only be created by an intelligent being with purpose and intent.  An acorn has the program to become an oak tree.  Similarly, your computer demonstrates this law.  The programmers installed an operating system in your computer to tell it how to handle software programs that you purchase.  Updates are made by intelligent and purposed programmers to perfect both operations.  DNA is genetic information code for the development, functioning, growth and reproduction of all known organisms.  Organic evolution claims that information (DNA) created itself.  Information cannot create itself.  Therefore, the theory of evolution is in conflict with this law of nature.

Organic Evolution Day 4 – Principle of Self-Organization – some form of order arises from local interactions between parts of an initially disordered system.  While Immanuel Kant used “self-organizing” in his 1790 book “Critique of Judgement”, William Ashby formulated this principle with its four basic ingredients in 1947.  We see self-organizing in bees, termites, birds and ants.  Evolutionists use this principle to reject Michael Behe’s argument of “irreducible complexity” Organic evolution claims that the first and simplest biological cells self-organized into a biomolecule from an array of primordial soup.  Yet, self-organizing into a membrane-bound microorganism capable of replication, protein synthesis, and motility, not considering DNA information, without a creating, directing, and organizing mechanism is impossible. Therefore, the theory of evolution is in conflict with this principle of nature.

Vertical Evolution Day 5 – Law of Sufficient Reason – the cause, for any effect, must have sufficient power to cause the effect.  Have you wondered how reptiles evolved into birds?  (See Archaeopteryx) Darwin’s biological theory claims that natural selection, time, mutation, and chance caused new creatures to be created in the tree of life.  However, Darwin had no knowledge of DNA containing specific genetic information allowing each form of life to function, grow, and reproduce its unique kind.  Vertical Evolution claims new creatures are created by natural selection, chance, and time.  Neither natural selection, chance, nor time provides sufficient reason, cause, or power to initiate DNA to change into an evolved creature.  Therefore, the theory of evolution is in conflict with this law of nature.

Horizontal Evolution Day 6 – Adaptation – animals adapt to their surroundings by way of environmental factors and natural selection.    Darwin and evolutionists have seen and tested adaptation for centuries.  Darwin supporters take adaptation and develop it into the hypothesis that adaptation creates new creatures.  This hypothesis is the theory of Darwinian evolution.  Adaptation cannot create new genes; it only turns existing genes on and off.  Actually, humans have been performing this, genetic engineering if you will, on plants and animals for millennia.  Think about all of the unique genes that have been turned on and off in dogs, cattle, horses, potatoes, roses, and the list goes on.  For millennia, humans have bred features that they desire and discourage features they do not desire.  Adaptation is evidence that life evolves through adaptation and not evidence of evolution or how new animals are created.

Summary – You are intellectually honest and you believe in science.   I challenge you to examine the theory of evolution using the tools of science (laws of nature).  Defenders of the theory of evolution make some incredibly persuasive claims that are convincing.  But we live in a physical universe that operates within the laws of nature.  Naturalistic evolution does not fit within these laws of nature.

I am not proposing any solution on how the universe began, how life began, how humans became conscious of themselves, nor why animals steal.  I am not proposing an atheistic or theistic solution to what an outside force, organizing mechanism or intelligent being is.  I propose this one thing: when pondering your view of naturalistic evolution, I propose that you “follow the science”.  Follow the laws of nature.
