As I engage in the debate and question, is evolution a theory, I am criticized. I expect this as science has a long history of criticizing hypothesis and theories. How I handle this is similar to how I abandoned my belief in the theory of evolution. I say let the science speak for itself.
I did not come up with this idea. It has long been a conviction of many scientist and researcher. Take Michael Skinner for example.
I read about Skinner’s encounter with established scientist in December 2013 Smithsonian article entitled, Code Breaker. He was simply following the results of an experiment and found that as toxins flooded in to the body of some rats, they altered the pattern of simple molecules called methyl groups.
These groups did not change DNA like many biologist expected. They latched onto DNA in the egg or sperm cells and interfered with the functioning of the DNA for generations. This has significant impact on toxicologists and how they study chemical exposures. This is a game changer for monitoring the environments chemical safety, health risk and liability in chemical exposure.
Skinner is following the science but the established scientific forces are battling him. Imagine that! Just as days gone by and days to come, old paradigms die hard.
Skinner continues his research with this quote, “The best way to handle these things is to let the science speak for itself.”
As for as, Is Evolution a Theory? Look at the Laws of Nature in the areas of physics, biology, information, mathematics, and philosophy. Let us stop the magic. Let the science speak for itself.
