Aliens Are on Earth

OK, maybe I exaggerated a little. But I am not far off.

I was going through some science article and read an article from the Washington Post about Octopus. Read it here.  The following quote comes from this article: “They are probably the closest we will come to meeting an intelligent alien,” Godfrey-Smith writes.

Have you read anything about the uniqueness of an Octopus?  I went to One Kind and found some really unique facts about Octopus.

Below are a few amazing facts and my engineering questions as I ask the question, Is Evolution A Theory:

  • Octopuses have three hearts. Two pump blood through each of the two gills, while the third pumps blood through the body.  How did it develop 2 hearts to pump blood from one heart animal in its evolutionary tree?
  • The ink even contains a substance that dulls a predator’s sense of smell, making the fleeing octopus harder to track.  How did the octopus determine some oil dulled its predator’s sense of small?
  • The amazing mimic octopuses are capable of changing their body shape to mimic other animals.  Mimic anything is difficult.  How do you know you are even close?  Think about the years it takes for a human to get control of his limbs to mimic something
  • If all else fails, an octopus can lose an arm to escape a predator’s grasp and re-grow it later with no permanent damage.  This is advance bio-programming.  Why don’t I have this upgrade?
  • Go to the Amazing Facts website and read how intelligent these creatures are.

Please give me a little credit.  For those of you who have an inquisitive mind and want to know how something works ask yourself, how did evolution or natural selection change these complex system from one that worked to a new one that works.

The fact is that things don’t just happen, they have to be designed and tested and perfected.  Any thing less is magic.
