In the GazetteXtra‘s article entitled, “As people flock to theme parks this summer, series of accidents plagues popular rides“, I read, “Headlines across the country have been abundant with news of shocking theme park accidents in the last several weeks, some of them fatal.“
The article goes on and gives two examples below:
- Last month, a Tennessee boy got caught under a Missouri coaster and was seriously injured.
- And in early June a woman died from internal bleeding after sustaining an injury while riding a roller coaster in Indiana. It was ruled an accident.
Do you ride roller coasters? Quoting the article, did you know, “The likelihood of dying on a roller coaster is pretty low, with odds at roughly one in 750 million, according to the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions.“
Have you ever thought about all of the Laws of Nature that the electrical, structural, and mechanical engineers use to design and build a roller coaster? I suspect you have confidence in these engineers and contractors who build amusement park rides. If you did not have confidence that you would live through the roller coaster ride, would you get on it? Of course not!
Let me drill down a layer. You are confident (with you life) and the engineers are confident (with their professional liability) and the contractors are confident (with their business equity) that the Laws of Nature will not change. Period. We humans rely on the Laws of Nature remaining the same or constant through out our life time, at least. This is the Law of Uniformity – the laws of nature have been and will continue to remain uniform and not change.
Do you know that the evolutionist who believe in the theory of evolution believe that the Laws of Nature have changed? In the beginning and millions of years ago the Laws were different than today.
