Is Evolution A Theory and Being Unreasonable

I just read a news story about how difficult the police’s job is at times dealing with some deranged people.  Surely you have read news about people who for many reasons are unreasonable with police.  Maybe they are mentally unstable and unreasonable or have taken drugs and feel invincible.

I remember reading about a person who thought he could fly.  He knew in his bones that he could fly.  He believed it so fiercely and completely that he went to the top of a multi-story building to prove it.  Interesting, he did not fly up to the top but rather took the stairs.  Up to this moment at the edge of the building, his subjective reality has been a harmless mental quirk.  But once he gets to the ledge, he will enter the grip of objective reality, beholden not to mental disorder, dreams, or hopes but to the iron clad laws of physical universe.

Regardless of how much he might wish it otherwise, gravity and the pavement below will conspire to demolish him.  The point is that the laws of the universe ( nature, science or whatever you call them) cannot be over ruled by your thoughts, desires, dreams, religion, etc.

I see evolutionist in the above picture.   They deny the laws that contradict their belief in the theory of evolution.

Evolutionist are not crazy or deranged or on drugs.  They have confirmation bias and fail to reason.  Let me explain.  First understand that one way to think of science is as follows: a method or set of procedures that function to neutralize the distorting effects of confirmation bias and other bias.

Science forces us to seek out and weigh all evidence through reason – even the evidence that counts against our belief and expectation.

Confirmation Bias – the tendency to filter and interpret evidence in ways that reinforce our believes and expectations.

Reason – the ability to follow, construct and evaluate agreements.

Please realize that we all have confirmation bias and are do not reason well at times.  It is just that these times should not be in the arena of science.

It is unfortunate that I run into evolutionists who believe in their bones that evolution is true.  They get upset with those who disagree; attacking their character and insulting them with nasty names.  Their emotional bias is revealed.    Others tell me that they do not think that the laws of science are applicable all of the time.

This reminds me of the deranged man about to jump off of the building – bias and unreasonable.
